Beautiful and functional!  Truly unique pieces of functional art!  We dye our own broomcorn using environmentally friendly commercial dye.  Each broom is hand-tied.  This broom in particular is more time-consuming than some of the other whisk brooms; note the weaving of the broomcorn up the side of the sweep.
 
Brooms are either 16" or 13" tall and the sweep is 11-12" wide.  The leather hang-tie cord, color-coordinated with the dyed broomcorn (yes, we have pink, purple, orange, several shades of blue, etc) is tied so the broom hangs with the braided side displayed!

HISTORY
The braided rooster tail broom, often associated with its decorative appearance, finds its roots in the early 20th century, particularly with theater ushers who used similar brooms with long handles to quickly sweep up dirt in auditoriums, ensuring the seats remained clean for audience members; this design, with its long handle and ability to fit in a back pocket, became the basis for the modern "rooster tail" broom, known for its braided, feathery appearance, often used for light dusting tasks today.
